10 Things You Didn't Know About Batman
#10 Bob Kane didn’t create the Batman we know
Bob Kane did play a roll in creating The Dark Knight. When the publisher of ‘Detective Comics’ asked for a new hit superhero, Kane drafted a masked character with bat wings. When he needed a story to go with it, Kane called on a writer named Bill Finger. It was Finger who ended up creating the origin story and all the major characters in Batman’s world. He even suggested Batman’s iconic pointy ears mask and long, black cape design. Since no one at Detective Comics knew Finger existed, so the final credit went to Kane.
#9 Fans Voted To Kill Off Robin
In the “Death in the Family” series, Robin and his birth mother were both tied up in a warehouse set to explode unless Batman could save them. To end this cliffhanger, DC Comics set up a toll-free hotline allowing readers to call and vote as to whether the Boy Wonder would make it out of the warehouse alive. Fans voted 5,343 to 5,271 for Robin's demise, and so he died in the next issue.
