5 Worst Mistakes in 'The Dark Knight Rises'
#3 Bruce Wayne and Miranda Tate (Talia Al Ghul) Have Sex
You should probably know that Batman and Talia Al Ghul had a long standing romantic relationship in the comics, and so we understand why Nolan found it necassary to include that in the film. However, there is virtually no development in the relationship between these two. They’re running in the rain, then they start making out, and suddenly they're naked. With no emotional attachment to this relationship, Talia’s eventual betrayal is meaningless. Seriously, what's the point of randomly having sex with your enemy? This can only work if they included some kind of real feelings, like Talia had the comic books.
If she was conflicted between her feelilngs for Bruce and avenging her father, this would make sense. It would also have made for a much deeper movie with more emotions and depth to it. Giving some speech about how it was just to hurt him more in the end just doesn't fly.
