The 7 Best Things About Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy
5 of 7 The Tone
Tim Burton's version of Batman gave Gotham a cold, dark and gothic feel. Nolan's films took the darkness even deeper, while adding a raw feeling of realism.
While maintaining a serious tone instead of the average light-hearted fare we find in most Superhero movies, Nolan still added a few moments of light humor. But he understood the solemnity associated with the story of a man who watched his parents get murdered as a small child. He transformed a superhero story into a crime drama and a believable story of a man seeking justice from a traumatic childhood.
